Elizabeth,

Those, as far as I know, are all titles given to projects that haven't actually filmed yet or been solidified. Or, for example, if a certain actor is "rumored" to be playing the part but hasn't been confirmed yet, you would see "rumored."

"Pitch" means the project is/has been pitched to various networks or others who might actually make the movie, though it's not in production yet.

As for "optioned property" that means someone has an "option" on the script, giving them the right to make it if they so choose.

All of this is a great reminder that IMDb is first and foremost a fan site, and they focus on keeping the fans as up-to-date as possible, even on things that haven't quite happened yet. :)

Hi Ben......I was wondering if you can explain to me what the words "pitch" "rumored" "optioned property" mean after a movie title or director or actor? Also how do they get there?
Thanks so much.
I love your page.

Coolness Ben. You did a great job of providing insightful views of how to get the ol IMDBpro account up to speed. You "sell the sizzle, not the steak" in Hollywood and your how to's are money.

Thank you for your Google-fu, Ben. I'm sitting here with an actor talking about getting her project up on IMDb and I think, "Ben Whitehair has a post on that," and I Google "how to get your project listed on imdb" and BOOM. :) You are very smart. And cute. Thank you!
